Transcript[edit | edit source]

The Office

Michael: I've been presented this piece of paper that apparently, upon lickage, will inform me whether or not I am what's known as a supertaster. Is this correct?

? Caitlin: Yes.

Michael: This is correct.

That's bitter.

? Caitlin: (gasp) You're a supertaster.

Outside

Caitlin: No Dr. Pepper!

Unknown: No Dr. Pepper?

Stefan: They didn't have any.

Unknown: That's blasphemy.

Stefan: I know.

Megan: That's all I asked for, man.

I think I can take one more.

Stefan: Yeah?

Megan: If it was Dr. Pepper.

Stefan: Oh.

Megan: Just kidding.

(laugh)

Michael: Stefan has returned from Cosco with goods.

Maybe it's because I both went to the gym and jogged yesterday, but I've been ravenously hungry all day today. So, I'm on my way to get my second sandwich of the day.

There's this place downtown Missoula called, uh, Market On front, and they make a sandwich called the Fruity Bird, which has a fig paste on it, and you can also get it in spicy mode, where it has, uh, extra chipotle aioli and jalapenos on it, and it's so good. It's not the best sandwich in Missoula, as we said the other day. Those would be found at Tagliare, which is maybe just another five minutes down the street.

Market On Front

Michael: Look at this. Look at this. So good. So good.

Michael's Apartment

Michael: Welcome to the spinny chair.

Apparently Claire doesn't have a washer or a dryer, so she's on her way over to use our washer and dryer. Right cat?

(cat meows)

Michael: Hi.

Claire: Hi.

Michael: What's in the bag?

Claire: Um, goodies.

Michael: Goodies?

Claire: Mmhm. For you, you get, and I'm gonna be really disappointed if you've had this before, cause I- I feel like I'm being really special, but maybe I'm not. Have you had this?

Michael: No.

Claire: 'Kay. This is South African ginger beer.

Michael: Okay.

Claire: And it's really popular there. Like, when I was at work recently and someone ordered ginger beer, they're like, someone's gonna drink ginger beer. I was like, I think people do that, but in South Africa there was commercials all the time.

Michael: You hold a refreshing original ginger beer recipe. When it catches the back of your throat, it gives you a sensation we call kwetsa. What does that mean?

Claire: I only know, like, three words. No, stomach, and come here.

Michael: Why did you learn the word stomach?

Claire: Because that was someone's nickname.

(laughs)

Claire: It was!

Michael: Okay.

Claire: And also, I don't know if this is even a good brand, but you know how you're- whenever you get beef jerky, you're like, oh, this has more carbs in it than I thought?

Michael: Mmhm.

Claire: So, their traditional beef jerky is called biltong.

Michael: Okay?

Claire: And it is really low-carb. Like, point three or point four carbs, grams of carbs per serving. And I had some and it was really good, so I got you some. Hopefully it's still good.

Michael: Thank you.

Claire: Yeah.

Since you like coconut, these are candies from South Africa.

Michael: Ooh!

Claire: That are, um, coconut flavor.

And then for Stefan I got alcohol. These are liquors, and they're 100 proof. So, that's like Everclear. And these are liqueurs, so they're dessert flavored, and they're only 48 proof or so. But we tried this one, and whoever picks this one I feel bad for. It's bubblegum. It tastes just like--- it's just Listerine. That's what it is. They just put Listerine in a bottle and then you take shots of it and it's terrible.

Michael: How's your laundry time going?

Claire: It's going well. You know, it's laundry.

What are you looking at?

Michael: There's a kitty pooping over there.

Claire: Oh, that's private.

In Michael's Car

Michael: Like I said earlier, I don't know what the deal is, but I am so hungry today. So hungry! It's eleven pm, so most things are closed. I think I'm just gonna do something really bad and go to Burger King.

This month is going to be a little bit stressful. I don't remember how much I've talked about my schedule lately, but, uh, this weekend I'm going to be in Boston for, um, the Mysterium conference. If you remember forever ago, back in December, January, sometime, I talked about Myst and why I have the, uh, the big Myst thing up on the wall in my room. And there's a conference that's all about Myst and related things. It's happening this weekend in Boston. I'll be flying out there on Thursday. The conference goes through Sunday, I fly home Monday. I've got work that next week.

The weekend of the twenty-second, I think it is, I'm going to Boulder, Colorado for a work shop on how to build tiny houses. It's a two day thing. But, hopefully, I'll come away with a better understanding of what it takes to design and build a tiny house. Actually, I'm really hoping they have at least one model there that I can be inside and understand how small that space actually is.

But anyway, the weekend after that is my next trip to Toronto for Crash Course Kids. I'll be flying back from Toronto on the 30th and then the 31st is the first day of school. And so far this semester I've signed up for, uh, a physics class and a computer science class. And there's like one extra little computer science thing that just meets for one hour per week that's just kinda whatever. So it'll be, uh, a certainly less intense semester than last year, I think. I don't know how hard the physics class is gonna be, but I'm gonna bet that it's not going to be as confusing to me as Calculus was.
