Transcript[edit | edit source]
In Michael's Car
Michael: My iPhone 6s+ shipped this morning, soooo that’s exciting. It’s supposed to arrive on the 6th; it is currently the 2nd.. So is that uhhh Monday? There’s a very loud crow or something outside. It keeps yellin’.
At the Office
Michael: We went to film some answers for the SciShow Quiz Show. Eggs have pores! Eggs have pores!
Stephan: 66!
Michael: 66 decibels?
Stephan: Yea. Deci-bells. It’s uh, I feel like this is a little misleading. Them talking isn’t even registering?
Michael: Yea.
Stephan: But I can see in like a not-well insulated studio space like you could hear that in that in like the next studio over? Maybe it wouldn’t be loud enough but like I feel like these numbers are, are misleading.
Michael: Misleading
Cut to Filming SciShow
Stephan: A super cool out of print Hank Green CD signed by the man himself… And a medium-close… And the winner will take home a copy of the script from this episode plus some secret SciShow SWAG. Was that okay?
Caitlin Hofmeister: yea!
Stephan: Okay. I feel like I paused weirdly.
Caitlyn: I thought it was good.
Filming
Nick Jenkins:So, you’ll be able to control it from here so that you can see if you screwed it up and then there you go.
Shini: Oh, okay. Maybe you’ve noticed that every time we talk about a new system, we highlight it’s importance by saying how you’d die without out it. Like without your muscular and skeletal systems, you’d collapse into an inert bag, bag of goop.
Michael: Skel-ee-tal
Shini: How do you say it?
In unison: Skeletal.
Leaving the Office
Michael: Oh man. It took me a long time to finish up the music stuff that was going in today’s vlog. I don’t know what it’s going to be called yet, but it’s the one where Katelyn and I drive to Colorado for the tiny house thing. Anyway, it’s time to get my daily Chipotle and then apparently Katelyn made low-carb pumpkin pie.
At Michael’s Apartment
Michael: Where’s your pumpkin Pie?
Katelyn: :Points:
Michael: That’s pumpkin cupcakes.
Katelyn: They’re little mini pumpkin cupcakes. That way you can have individual, individual things and you don’t have to worry about eating a whole pie.
Michael: You don’t have to worry about eating a whole pie, Kitty!
Katelyn: Yea kitty! Kitty, look at this this. Kitty. Want some?
Michael: What’s that?
Katelyn: It’s whipped cream.
Michael: But they can’t taste sweet things
Katelyn: But it’s just cream.
Michael: If they throw up all over the place.. it’s your fault.
This is a pumpkin pie for humans, not for cats. No, no, no, no, no. That tastes like pumpkin pie! You did it!
In Unison: Yaaay
Michael: Today I got my Black Magic Pocket Cinema camera back from Black Magic. If you’re just tuning in, the reason that I had to send it in was that this bottom mounting point.. It’s meant to screw into stuff like this; it’s just the same size as your traditional tri-pod screw thing. But I have a mount like this that has a really long screwy thing sticking out the top. And when I was screwing the Black Magic onto it, the really long screwy like punctured the bottom of the camera and destroyed a circuit board that’s down in there. The camera itself still worked, but it prevented the camera fro providing power to the lense so I couldn’t change focus; I couldn’t change aperture. Anyway, I just got this back today and I’m a little surprised they didn’t fix the mounting point. Like, I can still see inside the camera. But we’ll see if it works now. It is in fact focusing now. That’s good news. Right cat? Right cat? That’s weird. Double cat action.
(Katelyn sneezes)
Michael: Woah, Bless you. I have a functional Black Magic camera now!
Katelyn: Hooray
Michael: It’s so dark over there. What are you doing, Kitty?
