Transcript[edit | edit source]

Outside in Toronto

Michael: They're apparently shooting an episode of Suits? I don't know what that is.

Denny's

Michael: Look at this bacon. This is, this is not good bacon action.

Khyan: That's how you make it. It's good bacon.

Michael: I don't like it.

Khyan: I don't wanna eat it but it's, it's good bacon.

Michael: So I hope most of you know Khyan, ah, this is Lysandre. Uh, did I say it correctly?

Lysandre: Yes, it's perfect.

Michael: Okay. She has a, a French name that is difficult for me to say.

Outside Chipotle

Michael: Chipotle is the greatest, happiest place on Earth.

Michael's hotel room

Michael: Since the daily vlogger event was cancelled (that was supposed to happen tonight), I got moved into the "Travel and Adventure" screening, which is happening in about half an hour. So I need to head over to the theater and get ready for that. I am really tired. I've been staying up really late chatting with people, meeting people, being all social. But that means not very much sleep.

At the theater

Hannah: Meat.

Michael: Meat? I love meat.

Hannah: We just did a meet and greet, and now I'm eating meat.

Alex: Meat and eat. Gotta be done!

At the hotel

Michael: Just finished the travel screening. I think it went pretty well. 'Specially since I wasn't really prepared for it. Mostly it just... like I keep saying, this event really inspires me to work on stuff. Vidcon does a good job of allowing creators to interact with their audience, but for some reason Buffer Festival just is really inspiring to the artist inside me. And especially being on the travel and adventure panel, now I'm like, ugh! I need to go see the world! I need to explore everything and meet people all over the place!

Wow. There's some party going on in here. Whoo! (makes drum and bass noise)

In a taxi

Michael: It seems like, when Charlie and I are together, we have to go on these pilgrimages to food places - the burger places specifically. So since we're in Toronto we're on our way to Holy Chuck to get some ridiculous hamburgers. These two, I believe, have not yet experienced Holy Chuck.

Liam: I don't believe I have.

Lysandre: And I don't think I will.

Michael: Are you just gonna watch?

Lysandre: Yeah.

Michael: Enjoy the spectacle?

Lysandre: Yeah and get a salad or something that's not gonna destroy my body.

Michael: They might not have salad at this place!

Liam: There'll be like a, like a veggie burger of some description.

Michael: They do have a veggie burger.

Liam: That's what I'll be having.

Michael: I checked before I-

Liam: Some good veggie burgers.

Michael: -invited Charlie via Twitter because Charlie is on that vegetarian diet.

Liam: Yeah, I've welcomed him into the fold.

Holy Chuck

Michael: We've just been joined by Khyan. Look at that dance! Oh yeah, oo, oo you got the moves! He got the moves! You got the moves! Everybody got the moves! Show us your moves! Oh, you got the moves! Very nice - oh, too low. Your moves were too low. Keep the moves up.

Liam: I keep it low.

Oh! Oh my god. Wow. We need that in slo-mo. Just like that drip.

Khyan: Bring the camera closer. Closer to his face.

Holy Chuck worker: Michael!

Michael: That's me!

Outside in Toronto

Michael: Earlier today my French friends Lysandre and Pierre-Luke were supposed to have a- well they did have a screening. Uh, they were showing their videos that were in French with subtitles but the subtitles got messed up so they've been given a, another screening where hopefully everything's gonna work properly this time.

Backstage at the theater

Lysandre: I'm not about that life.

Michael: This is how YouTubers prepare to go on stage.

Lysandre: I don't wanna go! I'm anxious! I'm having a panic attack.

Michael: Do you feel like you're gonna throw up?

Lysandre: Yes.

Michael: How do you say that in French?

Lysandre: Vomir.

Michael: Vomir? How do you feel Khyan? You're not going on stage.

Khyan: No, I feel great. I'm trying to nurse.

Lysandre: (laughs) I'm not bringing any attention right now.

Michael: She fainted, she's fine.

Girl in Corridor: Hi!

Michael: Hi.

Girl in Corridor: Are you filming?

Michael Yep.

Girl in Corridor: Why?

Michael: Why not?

Girl in Corridor: What are you filming for?

Michael: Welcome to YouTube.

At the Screening

Corey: Welcome. How you doing?

Lysandre: Uh, there was a video about anxious... like, uh, yeah, that's me.

Outside in Toronto

Michael: That just looks so picturesque. Holy (beep). (laughs) Did you get it?

Gabrielle: No.

Michael: You didn't get it?

Gabrielle: Yeah, I got-

Michael: Oh.

Gabrielle: -the shot. Was it a three way kinda...

Michael: Yep. It was a three way... You're having a three way.

Gabrielle: Yep.

Michael: Yep.

Gabrielle: Saying it like this sounded weird but I'm French, I can say things like this.

Michael: You can do what you want! Have you been up to the top of the tower?

Gabrielle: Not yet. Should we go now?

Michael: I don't know. Do we have time?

Gabrielle: We do.

Michael: I just, I can't, I love how pretty this shot looks. When the lighting is as beautiful as it is right now, there's only one thing to do, Khyan, and that is go to Chipotle!

In Chipotle

Lysandre: Is it mission accomplished? Do you like it? Yes! Filter master.

In the Hotel

Michael: (laughing) She's doing the, the thing.

Outside in Toronto

Michael: We just finished the last screenings of Buffer. It's all over. It's all over!

Akilah: It's over!

Michael: I'm so tired! It was really good stuff, but despite it's goodness I was struggling to stay awake during the last few things. Whoo!

Akilah: It's not just you.

Michael: I keep saying this, but... oh man, this is really windy... I'm sure this sound is terrible! It's just like, (wind noise). Anyway I keep saying this, but watching all the films done by people here makes me feel two ways at once, and that is that I'm really inspired to work on stuff, but it's just so intimidating! There's so many people, they're so good at this stuff! I'm like, I can't compete with what they're making.

Khyan: I think you don't really know what you're capable of until you start making it, making stuff, so...

Michael: Like the, one of the last things we watched was this film about the holocaust, and it just looked so well-shot, and the guy came out and he was like, "Yeah, this is my student film..." Uh, it was... my student film looked nothing like that. It's really easy to compare yourself to everybody else though, right?
