Transcript[edit | edit source]

Outside Michael's Apartment

Michael Aranda: Good morning. It's time to go the office

Michael's Ford Mustang

(CD player buzzing)

Michael: Still need to get that fixed.

EcoGeek Office

Michael: We just filmed an episode of SciShow News about exploding whales. So that was kind of gross.

Hey Caitlin!

Caitlin Hoffmeister: (slightly high pitched) Hi Michael!

Michael: You look super white. The lights are blowing out your face.

Caitlin: I am white. You look dark and, uh like you have a red splotch (gesturing to the side of her face)

Michael: Well that's the record button. If I move over here, then it's not in my face. And the people at home can't even see it.

Caitlin: Aww you guys are missing out!

Michael: Movie magic. (Pans camera left and right very quickly) Oh, look at that rolling shutter.

Elsewhere in the EcoGeek Office

Michael: Stefan's got a bloody eye.

Stefan Chin: (removes glasses and puts eye very close to the camera lense) It's kind of bright.

Michael: (while Stefan makes a sort of disgusted face) Let me just tap on that. Didn't help. (Pans around Stefan's eye) Oooooo, why is your eye red?

Stefan: I got it lasered.

Michael: Lasered?

Stefan: I shot, green laser beams.

Travis Morss: Street fight.

Stefan: Street fight? (Travis laughs) I don't do....

Michael: But not like, Lasik surgery.

Stefan: No (followed by a long pause)

Michael: Dot, dot, dot. (Michael and Stefan chuckle) Do tell.

Stefan: Uh, I have glaucoma and so they blew holes in my drainage ducts so that I can hopefully lower, er, so it can hopefully lower the pressure in my eye.

Michael: Wow.

Stefan: So it doesn't explode my optic nerve.

Travis: They make medicine for that.

Stefan: Yeah, but it's kind of annoying.

Travis: No, like, natural medicine for that. That god...

Stefan: I don't believe in that shit.

Travis: That god made medicine for that.

Michael: What medicine did he make?

Travis: Isn't the...?

Stefan: Carrots.

Travis: Carrots, yes, carrots.

Stefan: That's not true though.

Michael: That was a lie perpetuated during the war.

Stefan: Was it?

Michael: Yeah.

Stefan: Oh. I mean...

Michael: Um, to hide the fact that uh people had radar and they were like, how are people seeing so well, and I think it was the British government that was like carrots.

Stefan: But there is, if you don't, well carrots have I think, is it vitamin A, it's whatever vitamin you can, is abundant in carrots, if you have a deficiency in that, it can lead to blindness.

Travis: I was talking about weed (chuckles)

Stefan: Well see the thing is, marijuana does lower the eye pressure, but only for like three or four hours.

Travis: Ah.

Stefan: So you have to smoke, like, all day, every day and you have to wake up in the middle of the night to smoke so you can keep the pressure low. So it's not really feasible.

Michael: It seems like maybe the side effects would outweigh any potential benefits there.

Travis: Sure, sure.

Michael: I mean (Pause) fu, some people would enjoy the side effects. I however would not. (Stefan and Travis laugh)

Michael's Ford Mustang

Michael: I'm leaving work a little bit early today because I feel not good. Something (puts on sunglasses) I don't know if I ate something bad or what, but something doesn't feel right.

Michael's Apartment

Michael: So I just went to the bathroom and I feel considerably better. (camera pans to Katelyn Salem) But, you probably shouldn't go in there for a while.

Outside

Michael: The weather can make up it's mind lately. (Camera points at cloudy sunset while wind whistles over the microphone)

Michael's Apartment

Michael: I just did that thing again where I stayed up all night editing and now it's 4:20 in the morning. Heyeugh. Made some progress on Brain Scoop and I made some progress on my, uh, Color Me Rad video. There was a section where there was a bunch of orange dust so I couldn't see the ground and there was kind of a hill and so I tripped and fell. And this is what that shot looked like (Shows clip of Michael's legs falling in slow motion). That's a little sneak peak for ya.

I'm reading the comments on yesterday's vlog and BigDamnArtist asked "Any possibility of it being a remote position until full-time?" In reference to the, the uh job opening that I talked about yesterday. And unfortunately not. Uhm, that job requires, among other things, handling physical media, like cdf cards and hard drives and stuff. So that's something you would have to be in Missoula for. Ratsgosqueak says "still wondering what the name's of your cats are". This one is Radius (points to Radius) and this one is Index (points to Index). 95% of the time I do just called them kitty though.
