Hank Green's House

Michael Aranda: We have just been discussing what is and what is not a salad. What is a salad?

Hank Green: Sss, well, people who make potato salads and call that a salad are liars. (Michael chuckles) Potato salad is not a salad. Can we agree on that?

Michael: I agree.

Hank: Ok, uh, anything, anything really that doesn't have leaves in it, is not a salad.

Michael: Whh, Ok what if you had, put potatoes and leaves . You have potato salad and you put leaves in it. (Hank mimes picking leaves off a tree) Is that a salad?

(Michael and Hank laugh)

Hank: It has to be primarily composed of leaves, it has to be edible, and um, I feel like it should probably be dressed, but I guess it doesn't have to be. Can you have a salad without dressing?

Michael: I actually like non-dressed, I like naked salads.

Hank: Non-dressed.

Elsewhere in Hank's house

Stefan Chin: And then you can just clip it black or clip it white

Hank : Oooo neat. I liked that.

Stefan: But I don't, I imagine you want.

Michael: Can you animate that? So that it flashes back and forth a few times.

Stefan: Yeah. I imagine you want the edges to be smoother and I'm not sure how to do that. (Stefan is tapping on his legs)

Hank: Well, no, I don't think, like, I think that that's gonna, kind of, my guess is that is a problem that Apple solved by having someone draw every frame and I'm not expecting that.

Stefan: Iiiiiiiiii am not convinced of that. I mean.

Hank: I don't, I don't mind that, the, it's not perfect.

Michael: Actually, what I normally do is just right click on that clip (pointing to clip on editing screen) that you want to send and replace it with after effects composition.

Hank: (loud music plays from video) Pretty sure I can hear it accurately, actually.

Stefan: Yeah, I think it's pretty close.

Hank: Ok, now what's next step?

Stefan: Now we probably delete these mother fuckers.

Michael: Oh wow. I don't know if I can put that in my vlog.

Stefan: Oh shit, I didn't know we was filming.

Michael: Or maybe I should just leave it in, cause that's real life.

Domino's, as many of you know, is my favorite pizza establishment and they do not deliver to our apartment, because we live to far away. But they do deliver to Hank's house (points down to gesture being at Hank's house) so we are taking advantage.

What kind of sick stuff are you looking at on the internet?

Stefan: Oh wait, there's a watermelon that explodes (shows video of exploding watermelon)

Possible Katelyn Salem : Oooo.

Michael: This should be illegal.

Michael's Ford Mustang

Michael: Matt Gaydos just invited me on a hike up to the M. So that's what's about to happen.

The M Hiking Trail

Michael: It's Matthew Gaydos.

Matt Gaydos: Sup.

Michael: (at the top of the trail) We made it! Heyeugh. (pans over view of Missoula and the mountains) I frequently try to imagine what places would be like before humans got here. What was this valley like before there were streets and buildings and cars and I guess if there's no streets then that implies no cars, but, uh, yep.

Matt: I'd say it'd look, this is probably one of the few places that you can easily imagine that.

Michael: Yeah.

Matt: Cause there's no high buildings. There's not a lot of highway.

Michael: You can't really see them from here, but along this mountain, there are lines. Horizontal. That are the ancient shorelines from when this was a big lake.

Matt: Oh, so I guess there's our answer.

Michael: This was water.

Matt: Yeah, that doesn't take much thought at all now that I think (both chuckle) right. Before humans.

Michael: So across the freeway is where the L is. I've never been up there. Maybe I should go.

(Michael films his feet as he climbs up the rocky mountain path)

We've traveled up higher on the mountain now. Um, there was a hawk that was looking to kill us. I don't see it anymore. The moon is out.

We were just descending the mountain and we passed someone who was like "Hello Michael" and I was like "Hi", but I had no idea who he was soo Hello!

Matt: Hi guy!

Michael: If that's you watching this thing...

Matt: You're up there (points back up towards the path)

Michael: You are up the mountain right now.

EcoGeek Office

Michael: (wearing his black suit and SciShow tie) So, we just filmed some SciShow quiz show, which is why I'm all snazzy with my SciShow tie and we filmed some Crash Course. And now, Nick is going to take me for a ride in his Camero with brand new exhaust.

(talking to Abby) Right dog? right (Abby walks down the stairs) So wobbly (Nick Jenkins laughs)

Nick Jenkins: Into the light!

Michael: Oh here, let me get that for you (opens door for Abby)

Look at these tips. Borla. (Nick starts the car and it makes a deep rumbling noise out the new exhaust)

Nick's Camero

Michael: How do you like that noise Abby?

Nick: Abby? (Abby turns her heard towards Nick) How do you like the noise? She's fully focused on me. She's like "I don't care".

Outside Cold Stone

Michael: Kristen, tell me about your new campaign.

Kristen Franklin: Less Matthew Gaydos! (shakes fist while Matt looks on, unhappily)

Michael: How do you feel about this, Matthew Gaydos?

Matt: I don't have a choice (gesturing to face) there's always the same amount of Matthew Gaydos in my life. (Kristen laughs)

Michael: Why do you want less Matthew Gaydos?

Kristen: Euh, just to spite Sarah.

Michael: Ooooh.

Kristen: I'm just kidding.

Michael: In the comments below, are you team "Not enough Matthew Gaydos" or team "Too much Matthew Gaydos"?

Kristen: TMM (Matt shrugs)
