Transcript[edit | edit source]
Michael's Office
Michael: This is down, like, ten since yesterday. We're haemorrhaging subscribers!
Outside EcoGeek
Michael: This is easily the smokiest that it's been yet. I can, I can smell it breathing in, like, it's like a campfire's right in front of me. You can't see the mountains at all. There's a mountain right there behind this... behind those trees.
In Michael's Car
Michael: There's a lot of stuff happening and it's kind of stressing me out a little bit. At 5:45 in the morning a flight leaves Missoula International Airport and hopefully I will be on that flight on my way to Toronto because we have a Crash Course Kids shoot this weekend. I've been trying to figure out how to work, uh, Logan's editing schedule into what I'm trying to do since now he's back in Tennessee. Trying to get caught up on the vlogs again. But what's kinda stressing me out the most is that, uh, Sunday going into Monday is going to be pretty ridiculous. I've gotta get up early on Sunday for the Crash Course Kids shoot because that needs to start fairly early in the morning because we need to be done with everything by the time 1pm rolls around so that I can get to the airport by three, so that I can catch an international flight by five, so that I can get back into Missoula (assuming there's no airline trouble) by midnight, so that I can go to school Monday morning. Anyway, instead of going to bed like I should right now, I'm going with Henry up to his friend's house in the mountains. I guess the house is like, partially made out of a bus or something. They're going to play some music and I'm gonna get a recording of it.
The Bus House
(Background talking)
Henry's Friend: My girlfriend's dog is gonna act like he's gonna attack you. Just so you know. Hey Joe, you gonna watch out? You gonna be nice boy real quick? (Dog growls and barks) No! Nooooo.
Henry: So there's the sink. This is the inside of the bus; part of it. You can see the bus windows. That's, like, the bedroom up there, through the...
(Dog barks)
Henry's Friend: No.
Henry: And this is the heat spill place. The door actually works.
Michael: There's no seat.
Henry: There is no seat.
Michael: What if you wanna drive somewhere?
Henry: I think you'd have some more problems than no seat.
Michael: Got a kitchen area.
Henry's Friend: Check this out. That's how the cat gets downstairs, is through that hole, down these ladders. And at the back of the bus there's literally just a bath. And that's one way to get upstairs. Watch out, there's a kitty probably right up there.
Henry: Oh, right there!
Michael: Hi kitty. Oh, bye kitty. It goes up further!
Henry's Friend: There's another deck out here too, which is beautiful.
Michael: Got a little hang out area, speakers in the ceiling.
Henry's Friend: Yeah, you can plug a guitar into the wall right there. They used to have speakers all throughout the property, there's one hanging in the trees outside. Here's a spot where you can look down into the kitchen, from there.
Michael: Is this what you get when you don't really have a plan to begin with? You just keep building and building and building?
Henry's Friend: That's what it seems like, yeah.
Henry: We're not even at the top yet. This in my opinion is the best part.
Henry's Friend: Yeah, it's a good part of it.
Michael: Sleeping area up in the, uh, in the tower.
Henry's Friend: There's the out house.
Michael: Oh yeah. You don't have a...
Henry's Friend: An indoor toilet.
Michael: You gotta hike all the way up there?
Henry's Friend: Yup.
Henry: Aren't you guys putting in a composting toilet in like the...
Henry's Friend: We bought one.
Michael: Is it a Nature's Head?
Henry's Friend: Yeah. I think it is a Nature's Head. I'm pretty sure that's the brand.
Michael: Nice.
(Bluegrass music)
In Michael's Car
Michael: This bus house is way up in the middle of... I mean it's in the middle of somewhere, but it's out of town for sure, and this road is very bumpy. Not designed for Mustangs. So my flight leaves in about eight hours. I'm still trying to decide if I want to try to stay up until then or try to get a few hours of sleep. It looks like I might not have anyone to take me to the airport, aside from Glenn who has to leave for work a couple hours before my flight so I might end up going to the airport really early and then just hanging out for a few hours. Did I mention that this road is bumpy?
Michael's Apartment
Michael: Instead of packing for my trip, I did some more programming work on the WhatImDoingRightNow titles. Now it's set up so you just have three things (month, day, year), so if I type in a '4' for the day, it'll automatically adjust the day to Tuesday. So it doesn't matter what you put in here... 5, 13, 2024... Monday May 13th 2024.
