Transcript[edit | edit source]

In Logan's Car

Michael: This is Take 2, because I forgot that I had my camera in time lapse mode so here's a nice time lapse for you to enjoy.

(music plays)

Michael: Uh, I'm on my way to Boston today. I have a layover in Minneapolis. Uh, tomorrow is the first day of Mysterium, which is a three day long conference about Myst and Riven and all of the sequels and the books and the universe surrounding Myst. Somehow they managed to stretch it out over three days. Logan was saying, during the time lapse, that, uh, VidCon is three days long and is, uh, more all-encompassing than Mysterium, so I'm really interested to see what they come up with. On the website it says that the first Mysterium had 200 people.

Logan: Okay.

Michael: So this is gonna be very small compared to VidCon, but-

Logan: Is this the second one?

Michael: This is the s... I wanted to say sixth, but I'm not sure.

Logan: Oh, so it's gonna be huge now. Maybe just like 50,000 people all really pumped about Myst.

Michael: You know, actually was I'm most sad about in missing the previous shot due to time lapse error is the abrupt edge.

Logan: Yeah.

Michael: We experienced an abrupt edge together.

Logan: Yeah.

Michael: And now you just have to trust us when we say that it was a moment.

Logan: It was. It was an abrupt moment.

Airport

(rattling sounds)

Flight Attendant: Good afternoon everyone. Welcome to Delta flight 1776 with service to Minneapolis/St. Paul.

(sounds of an airplane)

Minneapolis Airport

Michael: I just had a really nice burger. Uh, I have a really nice shake, and now I've got, like, half an hour before my next flight. So far, it looks like this trip might go by without any, um, plane issues.

Flight Attendant: Ladies and gentlemen, for those of you travelling to Boston, I do have an update. Uh, the maintenance that's on this aircraft, they're hoping to get it done by 9 o'clock, so it's going to be at least 9 o'clock either way, so, um, make yourselves comfortable, you know. If you need to walk around, that's fine. Uh, just listen to the overheads because if this changes, I'll make an overhead announcement throughout the airport. If you have further questions, please let me know. Thanks.

Michael: That's a two hour delay. What am I going to do with myself?

(music)

On plane

(constant beep)

Overhead: We're doing everything we can to insure you have a safe and enjoyable flight. We'll be dimming the cabin lights for take off. Reading lights are located over head. Thank you for your attention and we hope you enjoy the flight.

(beep stops)

Michael: (sighs)

Do you have coke zero? Can I get it in just the can with no ice? No, thank you. Thank you very much.

Boston

Hertz

Michael: Hello. Last name Aranda. A-R-A-N-D-A.

Hertz Employee: Michael?

Michael: Yep.

Hertz Employee: So what brings you to Boston?

Michael: Ever heard of Myst?

Hertz Employee: I have. I've played it.

Michael: Okay, there's this thing-

Hertz Employee: It's ancient now.

Michael: Yeah. There's- there's uh, a thing called Mysterium.

Hertz Employee: Okay.

Michael: That I, uh, got invited to this year. So I'm gonna check it out. There's Riven.

Hertz Employee: Riven. I've played Riven too.

Michael: The sequel. Myst 3, 4, and 5.

Hertz Employee: Never played any of those.

Michael: They had a spin-off called Uru. There's a book series. There's a board game.

Hertz Employee: I knew about the board game and I've played Riven, but that's about as far as I got.

So, I have either a Mazda 2 or a Toyota Yaris.

Michael: I'll take the Mazda.

Hertz Employee: Mazda? Okay.

Parking Lot

Michael: Here we are.

Okay, how do you drive automatics? This always freaks me out. Also, how do I adjust my mirrors? (mirror makes cracking noise) Ah! That made a sound. Oh, it's over here. Okay. Okay. Okay. How do I get out of here?

Parking Lot Attendant: Thank you, sir. Thank you.

Michael: Thank you. I guess I should figure out where I'm going.

Driving Through Boston

(music plays)

Outside

Michael: I find navigating in big cities with which I am not familiar to be kind of a nightmare. This area seems really confusing. There's lots of streets going in every direction. But according to Apple Maps, which, you know, I don't know how much faith to put in that, I should be where I'm trying to get in about five minutes.

Nathalie's House

Michael: I've made it. You weren't in any of the VidCon vlogs, were you?

Nathalie: I don't think so. Cause you and I...

Michael: The only time would've been when we went to iHop.

Nathalie: Right. And I don't think-

Michael: I don't think I filmed.

Nathalie: I didn't vlog that either.

Michael: This is Nathalie.

Nathalie: Hi.

Michael: I'm staying on her couch. It is almost three in the morning. My first thing happens at eleven tomorrow, so I can sleep for a while. Nathalie has to wake up at?

Nathalie: Six.

Michael: Six.

Nathalie: And it's?

Michael: Six minus three is three hours. Enjoy!

Nathalie: (laughs) And I have four meetings tomorrow, so this is gonna be fun.

Michael: Thanks for letting me stay at your place.

Nathalie: No problem.
